The mounting arm has a slotted hole and optical tube mounting would typically be with a 1/4-20 bolt or similar with the slot allowing the tube to be shifted slightly backward and forward for balancing purposes. This is the mount and tripod as used on the popular Meade DS-2000 series telescopes such as the Meade DS-2080 and DS-2114.
The easy to use mount features advanced electronics to make alignment both quick and simple by a two-star alignment technique for night-time observing. For daytime use the mount can be rapidly "mock aligned" so that tracking on the Sun is available when using an appropriate Coronado Solar Telescope.
